• Time required for the trip: The trip to Liushun Mountain and Chicai Lake takes some 3 days and the entire trip would take 11-13 days.
• Difficulty: The trip to Liushun Mountain and Chicai Lake is not that difficult for most people, though the entire trip may be difficult for most people.

• Environmental limit: Part of the trip passes through the Danda Wildlife Sanctuary.
• Intensity of development/Type of facility: Not apt for exploration and it is proposed to limit tourists, as in Type 3 Trails of the National Trail System.

Roughly, the trails in the Danda Mountains are the longitudinal ridges (for 12 days, either north south or south north), the Danda Transverse (9 days), the Mabo Transverse (7 days) and the South 3 Turns (about 10 days). The trip follows the main ridges of the Central Cordillera to the Chicai Lake, taking in the Danda Forest Trail and passing by Danda Mountain, Yixiqingmazhiy, Malijianan Mountain, Mabolas Mountain, all the way to Shiuguluan Mountain before going down from Dongpu. The Danda Transverse goes from the Ruishui Forest Trail in Hualien and cuts west into the Danda Mountain before reaching Yixiqingmazhiy. Rather than turning south, one should keep on to the west to leave the main ridges of the Central Cordillera and pass by the East West Mountain, Dongjun Mountain, Benxiang Mountain and Wushuang Mountain before reaching Renlun Workstation, through the Junda Forest Trail to arrive at Shuili. The Mabo Transverse begins from Batung Gate and goes by Shiuguluan Mountain, Mabolas Mountain, Maliyawenlu Mountain and Malijia Southeast Peak, before leaving the main ridges of the Central Cordillera and heading east to Maxi Mountain, Bugan Mountain and Kexibonan Mountain, before arriving at Yuli in Hualien. The Danda Turn Sector begins at Wushuan and proceeds by following Benxiang Mountain, Dongdajun Mountain and Yixiqingmazhi, before heading north along the Central Cordillera, eventually coming out by Chicai Lake.

Of the main peaks of the Danda Mountain, the ones worth mentioning are the in sector before the main gate of Chicai Lake, where one finds thorn plants, the untamed and striking beauty of the Taiping Stream and the virgin forest between Yixiqingmazhi and Maliyajia peaks, the Wulameng steep cliffs and Maliyawenlu, as well as the Mabolas Mountain.
