• Difficulty: The leg by Kuhanoxin and Guanshan is considered to be of medium difficulty for most people and the entire trip is of a higher difficulty.

【 Management 】

• Environmental limit: Part of the trip passes through key habitats and north to Guanshan is the ecological reserve of Jade Mountain National Mountain, an area of special landscapes.
• Intensity of development/Type of facility: Not apt for exploration and it is proposed to keep limit tourists, as in Type 3 Trails of the National Trail System.

The Beinan Sector in Guanshan of the Central Cordillera has straight-lined ridges without major branches. The entire trail stretches about 37km and travels through Kuhanoxin Mountain, Guanshan, Hainonanshan, Beinan Main Mountain, Xiaoguanshan and Hainonan Mountain among other peaks. Guanshan stands at 3,666m above sea level and the narrow peak goes south north. As the mountain is unique in southern Taiwan for its appearance, it is known as the highest peak in southern Taiwan and among the top 10 on the island. Renowned attractions in the neighborhood are Guanshan Cliff, Beinan Main Mountain (3,295m above sea level). To the south of the mountains, the ridge is around 2,000m, leaving Beinan Main Mountain and North Dawushan as the only 2 mountains measuring above 3,000 meters in the south Central Cordillera.

The south part of the Beinan mountain in Guanshan is on the south ridge of the Central Cordillera and varies between 2,400m~3,200m. The main plantation is a mixture of coniferous ecosystems for frigid and temperature areas and species of flora include high mountain azalea, Taiwanese cold fir and Taiwanese hemlock spruce. As for fauna, mammals include Taiwanese monkeys, Munt-jac and wild boar. As for birds, partridges, Taiwanese blue magpies, yellow sparrows, white-eared thrushes, crown thrushes, can be found, as well as a few reptiles and amphibious species.
