【 Type of attraction open for tourism 】

  • Length of trail: 18km.
  • Time required for the trip: The entire trip would take 1 to 2 days.
  • Difficulty: Medium high difficulty for major drops in elevation, long slopes and diversified terrain, which require ladders and ropes.

【 Management 】

  • Environmental limit: Most of the trail is located in the Chatianshan Reserve.
  • Intensity of development/Type of facility: To keep the area as this is, the sector between the self-guided trail in the Manyuehyuan Amusement Park to Chatianshan should be banned from major explorations. Local repairs shall be provided to the trail at this time. When necessary, number of tourists shall be kept under control, as this is a Type 1 National Trail. The other sectors to the north Chatianshan are not apt for development and number of tourists shall be kept under control, as this is a Type 3 National Trail.

The south and north Chatianshan are located at the intersection of Sanxia City, Wulai and Fuxing. A middle-sized mountains in the north of the Snow Mountain and located upstream of the Dahan and Xindian Rivers, the geological movement in the early stage provided the site with a number of striking valleys and falls among other attractions. The Chatianshan Reserve, home to a number of rare botanical species, such as Taiwanese beaches, also known as ???, which had survived the ice age, red cypress, Japan cypress and coniferous trees. The combination makes one feel as if walking in tall trees in Taiwan. Usual access to the north Chatianshan would begin from the Manyuehyuan Amusement Park for a 1-day trip, a hot option for mountaineers who are there for the weekend.
