【 Type of attraction open for tourism 】

  • Length of trail: 16.5km.
  • Time required for the trip: About 3-4 days.
  • Difficulty: High difficulty and the not-so-visible track would require sufficient preparation before departure.

【 Management 】

  • Environmental limit: Most of the trail is located in the Chatianshan Reserve.
  • Intensity of development/Type of facility: Not apt for exploration and it is proposed to keep tourists in limited numbers as Type 3 Trails of the National Trail Systems.

The Chilan Mountain boasts of hundreds of thousands cypress of between 1,000 and 2,00 years old. Some may be as old as 3,000 or more years, just as the golden thread in the U.S., which are considered as the oldest trees in the world.
