【 Type of attraction open for tourism 】

  • Length of trail:13.5km.
  • Time required for the trip: The entire trip would take 3 days.
  • Difficulty: Medium to high difficulty and the not-so-visible track after Sunglo Lake and detours for rough terrain would require sufficient preparation before departure.

【 Management 】

  • Environmental limit: Most of the trail is located in the Chatianshan Reserve.
  • Intensity of development/Type of facility: To keep the area as this is, the sector before Sunglo should be banned from major explorations. Local repairs shall be provided to the trail at this time. When necessary, number of tourists shall be kept under control, as this is a Type 2 National Trail. The sectors after Sunglo are not apt for development and number of tourists shall be kept under control, as this is a Type 3 National Trail.

The Sunglo Lake is origin to the stream by the same name and it is located to the north of the Snow Mountain, at 1,300m above sea level. A secluded lake in the mountain and surrounded by high mountains on 3 sides, the lake is amid cloud and mist all year and that is why it is also known as Magic Lake or Lake of 17 years old.
